Eastern India: A Timeless Journey

Day 1 : Arrival in Kolkata

Arrive in Mumbai, where you will be warmly welcomed and assisted with your transfer to the hotel. Check in and relax after your journey.

Day 2 : Exploring Kolkata

After breakfast, begin your sightseeing tour of Kolkata. Visit the magnificent Victoria Memorial, the elegant St. Paul’s Cathedral, and the renowned Indian Museum, home to an impressive collection showcasing India’s rich artistic and cultural heritage. The rest of the day is free for you to explore at your own pace or relax at the hotel.

Day 3 : Kolkata to Bagdogra – Drive to Darjeeling

After breakfast, board a morning flight from Kolkata to Bagdogra. Upon arrival, embark on a scenic drive through the hills towards Darjeeling. On reaching this charming hill station, check in to your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 4 : Darjeeling Sightseeing

Rise early and drive to Tiger Hill, located at approximately 9,000 feet, to witness a breathtaking Himalayan sunrise, with spectacular views of Mount Everest and Kanchenjunga on a clear day. On the way back, visit the historic Ghoom Monastery. Later, explore the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and visit a traditional local tea garden to learn about Darjeeling’s renowned tea culture.

Day 5 : Darjeeling to Pelling

After breakfast, leave Darjeeling behind and travel through the picturesque mountain landscapes to Pelling, a peaceful and scenic destination in Sikkim. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel. Later in the afternoon, visit the revered Pemayangtse Monastery, one of Sikkim’s most significant Buddhist monasteries. Enjoy an overnight stay in Pelling.

Day 6 : Pelling to Gangtok

After breakfast, continue your journey towards Gangtok, the beautiful capital of Sikkim. Enjoy the scenic drive through the mountains and valleys before arriving in Gangtok. Check in to your hotel and spend the rest of the day relaxing or exploring the surroundings at your leisure.

Day 7 : Discovering Gangtok

After breakfast, visit the peaceful and historically significant Rumtek Monastery, one of Sikkim’s most important Buddhist centres. Later, explore Enchey Monastery and the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, known for its valuable collection of Tibetan and Buddhist art, manuscripts and artefacts. An optional excursion to the Nathu La Border can also be arranged, subject to permits and prevailing conditions.

Day 8 : Gangtok to Kalimpong

After breakfast, depart for Kalimpong, a charming hill town known for its tranquil atmosphere and beautiful mountain scenery. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel. The afternoon is free to relax, enjoy the surroundings, or explore the local area at your own pace.

Day 9 : Kalimpong to Bagdogra – Flight to Delhi – Departure

After breakfast, proceed by road to Bagdogra Airport for your flight to Delhi. Upon arrival in Delhi, transfer to the International Airport to connect with your onward flight. Your enchanting journey through the cultural heritage and Himalayan landscapes of Eastern India comes to an end.
